The Trump Card

Now I know I didn't plan on writing about these kinds of games, but let me tell you, when I see something that's utterly breathtaking, I've got to give my two cents. Besides, you may be discovering something new and interesting from right here in my own little space on the net.

So I was surfing the net one day (as lame as a statement that is) and came across something that had escaped my thoughts. I saw that there was a Super Smash Brothers, but it wasn't a cheap guide for Melee, instead, it said Brawl. I was immediately intrigued due to the "latest" Smash Brothers being excellent for it's time. So, seeing this interesting new title, I head directly for one of my most favored sources of information, no matter how bogus it may/can be sometimes, Wikipedia. Turns out, this "Super Smash Brothers Brawl" is indeed a new title, and it's about time. Now what some of you may or may not know is that the character list is going to be most interesting, seeing as how I nearly fell on my ass the second I saw Solid Snake was going to be a fighter this season. Yeah I know, if you're just finding this out, it's no joke. Gamers everywhere will get to be the most loved tactical espionage agent in all of history. And no, James Bond doesn't count.

Now some of you may be immediately wondering, are there any other excellent characters joining in on the clash of a lifetime this year? And the answer, seeing as it's all I've got right now is yes. Sources on the internet are also pointing at Sonic joining as a new fighter, as well as some possibly old favorites. I won't post the pictures and lists that are on the net, wether they be true or false, here, but I will give you this nice little link to the Wikipedia breakdown on the whole deal. Also, if anyone has any solid info that you don't see here, please send me it at seritle@aol.com and I'll be sure to post it here for whoever stumbles across this post.

  • Wikipedia "Coverage" on the new Smash Brothers
  • Please note that developers are supposedly considering one or two more guest characters to place in the game as unlockables. They had a period of time to post on their forums your suggestions, but I'll go ahead and tell you that if there is one or two more guest characters, they had to originate from a video game and they had to have been on a nintendo console. For example, and this isn't to say this is another character, but Cecil from Final Fantasy IV could be a guest character because he originated from a video game, and Final Fantasy IV was played on the Super Nintendo. Please, feel free to discuss this in the comments, but for God's sakes don't start fighting or whipping out facts, just say who you'd like to see and such, not who's "ub3r 1337" and who'd get their ass whooped.

With that being said, I bid you all a good night, or morning really, and hope you all have a grand time playing this Excellent game when it comes out.

PLEASE NOTE - - I highly suggest you read everything there is to read on the Wikipedia Link, you'll find some interesting info I didn't want to fill this blog up with like Nobuo Uematsu being the composer for atleast the opening theme. I know, it was a shocker to me too. If you don't know who that is, just click on his name and hopefully you'll be as amazed as I was.
